Story Telling

Story Telling Workshops

The Story Teller performs popular, well-known stories, using characters from the book (soft toys or puppets) and encourages the children to join in or act out the stories for themselves. The stories are animated and interactive, and introduce books to children from an early age. Each session ends with The Story Teller’s own particular brand of magic!

Many different (and sometimes difficult) subjects can be explored and explained through stories.

The Story Teller also improvises stories on a given theme (with help from the audience) and has a bank of her own stories written especially for school groups and community groups

Creative Writing Workshops

The Story Teller’s Creative Writing Workshops are for all ages and families or other mixed age groups. The Story Teller has carried out successful workshops for the Arts Council of Wales, the National Trust, Literature Wales, and Pendine Care Homes, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, schools, libraries, festivals, community groups, as well as many other local organisations and groups. Please contact us if you would like to book a course.

Book a Private Session

If you would like The Story Teller  (and/or Piccolos Music) at your fete, fair, show, exhibition, party or charity event please contact us for our prices.

The Story Teller workshops are suitable for nurseries, playgroups, reception classes, community groups (Rainbows, Beavers etc.), after school clubs, fairs, exhibitions, and private parties

The Story Teller workshops can be held in any reasonably-sized room and the service is mobile and peripatetic; we travel to you. Many of the stories are also suitable for outdoors depending on the weather.

Listening to a story helps a child imagine the characters, places, plot and situation, instead of seeing it on a visual medium. This encourages creativity and imagination, enhances creativity, making them more open to ideas and free thinking.
